Prof. Hongki Kang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Medicine at Seoul National University (SNU) in South Korea. He has previously worked on Semiconductor Devices (e.g. Transistors, Sensors), Microfabrication processes & Additive Manufacturing (e.g. Printing), and Bioelectronics & Neural Engineering (Brain-Machine Interface, Neuromodulation).

He received his BS in Electrical Engineering from KAIST in 2008, and MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley in 2010 and 2013, respectively. During his graduate studies, he primarily focused on Semiconductor devices and micro-fabrication processes including printing for flexible electronics. Since then, he expanded his research areas towards Neural engineering & Biomedical engineering during the postdoc. Before joining SNU, he served as both Assistant and Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST).
